Heather R. Brown is a pioneer in grassroots organizing and has mobilized the progressive vote, while expanding the electorate, across the United States at a local, state and national level. In addition to domestic politics, she has worked abroad in Europe, South America, and Africa to help progressive activists strengthen their political engagement as well as sharpen their messaging and communication skills.
For the past decade, Brown has found her voice in progressive politics, most notably running the California Democratic Party’s statewide youth outreach in the historic 2008 election, then serving as Chief of Staff to the Young Democrats of America for four years. Most recently, she worked for Democratic GAIN, a U.S. based non-profit that focuses on building a long-term sustainable infrastructure for progressives, as their program manager.
In addition to her dedication to progressive politics, Brown pursued youth organizing in hopes of capturing and maximizing a new generations passions and global curiosities. Brown is also the founder and an executive director of the World Youth Peace Movement, a non-profit that focuses on youth engagement around the globe, strengthening cultural ties and opening the door for educational opportunities.
Brown is a resident of Washington D.C. and a native of Las Vegas, Nevada. Brown is a graduate of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, receiving her bachelor's degree in Political Science with a specialization in International Relations.
